Comparison of the Effectiveness of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Emotion focused therapy and Adolescent-centered Mindfulness Therapy on Nomophobia Symptoms and Sleep Quality of Girls with Nomophobic Symptoms

Introduction: Nomophobia is a particular disorder caused by the use of smartphones that adverse health effects such as sleep disturbance, impaired short-term memory, dizziness and high blood pressure is associated. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy, Emotion focused therapy and Adolescent-centered Mindfulness Therapy on Nomophobia symptoms and sleep quality in adolescents with Nomophobia. Methods: The research method was semi-experimental with control group and its design was pre-test, post-test and follow-up. The statistical population of this study was all Adolescents with nomophobic disorder in Isfahan that 60 of them were Purposive Sampling selected and replaced randomly in one of four groups of the cognitive-behavioral therapy of Michael Frey (2004), emotion focused therapy on Greenberg et al. (2008), Adolescent-centered Mindfulness Therapy group, and control group. Data collection was done using the questionnaire of Nomophobia Azad Manesh, Ahadi and Mansashi (1395) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality. The collected data were analyzed by repeated measures of variance with SPSS software. Results: The findings of this study showed that there is a significant difference between three cognitive-behavioral therapies, Emotion focused therapy and Adolescent-centered Mindfulness Therapy in Nomophobia symptoms and sleep quality with control group (P < 0.01). However, there was no significant difference between three cognitive-behavioral therapies, Emotion focused therapy and Adolescent-centered Mindfulness Therapy in affecting the symptoms of Nomophobia and sleep quality (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Self-efficacy can positively and directly increase the relationship between quality of life and emotional maturity with the tendency to adopt.
